The Influence of Rotation, Mass, Age and Evolutionary Phase on the EUV Luminosities of Late-type Stars: First Results from the EUVE All-sky Survey
Abstract
The Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer all-sky survey is providing a unique data set with which to probe the nature of the coronae of late-type stars. Insight from EUV fluxes for, eventually, several hundred stars will help define the role rotation, mass, age and evolutionary phase play in controlling coronal activity. Some early results from the EUVE survey of late-type stars are presented, with special emphasis on the coronal dividing line and EUV fluxes considered in the context of the HR-diagram.
